About the Artist
My potter's journey has been long, slow and slightly fractured. I started throwing in the early 1970's. My wife, Jeannie, came home from pottery lessons and raved about how much fun it was. We purchased a Shimpo wheel in 1974 and she began sharing what she learned in class each week. In 1977, we moved to Austin, Texas and put the wheel in the back of the garage for 27 years while we raised daughters and went about our life.
Our clay fires (pun intended) were re-ignited in 2003 when we took our first class at the Community Art Center in Mesa, Arizona. In 2004, we returned to Austin and enrolled in classes at the Clayways Studio. I took classes there for 13 years and have been blessed with fantastic clay instruction from a long list of talented teachers.
